Biography
Contemporary Christian recording artist Joshua Hallas has been singing well over 20 years. He has been writing and composing his own music for over 10 years. He just recently released his first CD; Two Boards Three Nails and is currently touring Southern California trying get the message of his music out to every community he is invited to. His goal is to impact whole communities of young people with a positive message to change.
The youngest of four brothers, Joshua
comes from a long line of talent in his family. His late grandmother,
Kitty Chuckles, sang on the radio at age 13. While waiting
tables and singing at age 16, she met her husband, who was a saxophone
player for all the big bands in the 40's. Their daughter Judy,
carried on the family legacy and later met Joshua's dad singing in high
school. Both of Joshua's parents sing and play piano. His mom helped
support the family with her singing, and she is still singing
professionally to this day.
In 1998, Joshua's music dream was completely destroyed by a trucking
accident he had in Encino, CA. Another motorist had gone through a red
light and crashed into his big rig. His left arm was caught in the
steering wheel and broken in 5 spiral fractures. His arm was left broken
for three days until he could get some help from Loma Linda specialists.
When he got home he wept with his wife thinking he would never play
guitar again.
In 2002, he picked up his guitar
and started writing songs again. After some personal struggles, he and
his wife decided to sell their home in Big Bear, CA and go to Nashville,
TN. He traveled across the United States with an RV and sang to many
along the way. While in Nashville he got to sing at Opry Mills in the
Gibson Theatre and sing with musicians that backed people like Garth
Brooks and George Strait. He met and learned from the most talented
writers and musicians from all over the USA. He also recorded his Cowboy
Romance demo.
After Joshua returned
he started the band Sojourner. They
went on a songwriting binge and wrote over a dozen songs together
touching many people along the way. They toured for a year, got played
and interviewed on 99.5 KKLA. Since then Joshua has had the opportunity
to play with many talented people and is in the process of forming a new
band. Joshua is
currently working on recording new material and making videos of his
songs.
Soon he will be live
streaming from his concert locations and home. So please join us in as
we move out into new areas of virtual reality. Joshua Hallas
